The video is about the central plaza of 2020 World Expo, the roof of the architecture is composed of circular element, symbolizing the concept of gathering. During the daytime, the roof is just like a tent and provide shade to the people, while the evening is coming, the central platform will rise, and become an outdoor theatre. The pavilion is just like the oasis hidden in the desert.
Shard Island tailored the animation for BIG, presented its design visually.

The theme of 2020 Expo UAE Pavilion is Sustainability, flowability and opportunity. The project defines the three combined theme areas as “connect the mind, create the future”.
The appearance of the building is tough, but its shape is like a tent. Rigid geometry combining with the soft curve, represents the coexistence of cultural blending of UAE.

“Dragon Plan” is initiated by seven organization and enterprises, which are Vanke group, the National Heritage Board of Shanxi province, Ruicheng County government, Taiyuan Vanke, URBANUS, Architectural Design & Research Institute of Tsinghua University and Shanxi Youth daily. It is the first public financing project, which aims to reuse the legacy of 2015 Milan Expo Vanke Pavilion to fund the environmental renovation project of Guangrenwang Temple in Ruicheng county Shanxi province.

The 3 minute film is commissioned by BIAD, the tall chimney casts a long oblique shadow under the morning sun, as time flows, the oblique shadow rotates like the pointer, representing the future of Shougang is unveiled. The film presents the future planning of Shougang service zone and its highlights one by one, with the clue of time.

The design of the track runs through the buildings interior and exterior, which forms the symbol infinity. In this free and dynamic space, the employees could be encouraged with creative thinking. The building image embodies the traditional concept of Southern Fujian architecture, and converts the traditional curving gable wall into curved surface, so as to bring infinite energy and dynamic to the city.

Shanli Lohas hotel is the only chain boutique resort in Beijing. Shard Island created the promotional video for Tianheyu in the series. The video starts the story from the beautiful natural environment and flexible music, interluded with the narrative of the architect, to slowly present the resort’s design taste by its quaint appearance and delicate inside, as well as its harmonious beauty with nature, so as to create the natural, health and delicate slowly life quality.

Zhuhai Aviation Park is designed by the world famous corporation Cuningham, Shard Island is commissioned to generate the 9-minute film to introducing its planning. The animation is narrated by it’s chief designer Rick Solberg, with the dream of the designer as the clue, presenting each of its key attractions, and combining the experience of tourists into the film. The film takes 60 days to create, and is well received by the Cuningham and AVIC.
